Task One and Two: Successful and Developing Physical Skills and Features
Task One: Successful Physical Skills in Kathak Performance
One physical skill which I feel I have executed confidently and effectively in the final performance was my use of coordination and alignment. I feel that whenever coordination was used within my piece I would always be able to show it well to the audience; for example when my hands would move so would my eyes and the focus would always be placed onto my hands. In the picture below I feel I used this well and efficiently in my performance, one of the lines that portrayed this well was the word "emerald" I used the mudra of putti g both of my hands together and in the air to show the idea of me holding an emerald and I am coordinating my focus of my eyes towards my hands. In this picture I feel that I am also showing good alignment and posture because my feet are turned out in first position and my body is in a tall and upright position.
Task One: Developing Physical Skills in Kathak Performance
One physical skill which I feel I need to develop in my final performance is my use of strength because I feel that in multiple parts I didn't fully hold my core so for example when I turned and performed the chakkars, I would sometimes wobble out of it and when I did the stitching section I would sometimes wobble or fall out of it. I feel that if I put more effort and power into my turns, they would have looked cleaner and a lot more stronger for the audience to be able to see. A way I could practice this is by doing sit up and balancing exercises to help build and grow my core muscles. I would do this 3 times a week for 10 minutes to help build my strength up.
